Last week, God put a great big white blanket over our state, specifically in our area. TWELVE inches of snow…setting a record around here. And all I could think about was how amazing it would be to capture a couple in this rare, beautiful moment in time. And, Chris and Sumer being spontaneous and fun loving, moved up their engagement shoot to let me play in the snow with them!! I texted her a few days before, and she said “IF” we actually got snow, and IF Chris was off in time…YEAH! And, all the “IF’s” fell into place. The location was perfect in that, it was their backyard.
They have the most beautiful property, and we had such a fantastic time with all that white stuff! Chris and Sumer ooze engaged bliss, and believe me, the kissing was completely undirected, they most definitely did not need encouragement from me! They have the cutest energy between them, and we are SO excited to be shooting their upcoming wedding at the gorgeous Dreams Resort Tulum in Playa Del Carmen, Mexico! Engagement pictures in the snow, and wedding pictures in the sand and beautiful water…definitely one-of-a-kind!
Congratulations Sumer & Chris!! We are SO excited to be part of this adventure with you guys, to catch up after all these years Sumer, and to spend this precious moment in time hangin’ with the two of you!

Your wedding, engagement, family, bridal photos are so much more to me than an image. Locations are backdrops, and lighting is an artistic element, and when I edit, I’m looking for ways that your photos are truly pieces of art that portray feeling, and the moment, and beauty. As I spoke with a potential clients mother this morning, I was reminded how incredibly precious these photos truly are. So many tiny details are put into a wedding day, so much time and thought, and then its over. And what is left? Memories, and while I do not fancy myself more important than I am, I’m incredibly thankful I can capture such beauty on a cherished day (and call it my job!)

I will be compiling “favorites” posts…happy shots, sweet moments, kickin’ style and through it all, we have truly been blessed with the most amazing clients. 2009: You rocked! 2010: I’m ready for all you have in store for us! Here’s a little taste, since a post is extra special with a picture:

When Sarah smiles, I think little birds come and perch next to her, and butterlies flutter nearby…like Snow White. Honest! Ok, maybe I’m exaggerating just a little, but this girl has sweet down to an artform! And she even dug up some FIERCE while we were on the shoot…and then there is Corey…and you can only say good things about a guy who knows the difference between a French and Barrel cuff… (I seriously had to look it up on Wikipedia, he had me totally stumped at the shoot) You can tell just by being around them, they are completely in love, and fit each other perfectly. We had a blast running around Frisco Square with them, and we are excited to be shooting their wedding in January!
Congratulations Corey & Sarah!! Next time, we’re going for the Twinkie shake…you in?

When I arrived at Eldorado Country Club for their engagement shoot (which is where we will also be shooting their wedding) I was met by two golf carts and full use of the entire golf course…um, YEAH baby! After some coaching from these two, I figured out how to maneuver my golf cart and we were buzzing all over the place finding spots for gorgeous shots! Thanks to Tracy at Eldorado Country Club who is the COOLEST coordinator EVAH!
There is a special light that flickers bright and true in Holly’s eyes when Wade is talking to her, or playing around with her, or whispering something in her ear…and her smile goes from happy to positively glowing in no time flat. This girl is FIERCE, organized, and a total blast to be around. And Wade is warm and genuine so between the two, we’re totally excited about shooting their upcoming wedding!
Congratulations Wade & Holly! And thank you for arranging the golf carts! I was reminded while we were whipping around in the 70 degree evening with the sunset at our backs, photographing two very special people, why I LOVE doing this.

Ricky & Shannon braved all kinds of situations in order to meet up for this engagement shoot…after nearly two weeks of rainy, soggy weather, we snagged the first (sort-of) sunny day but our arrival to this beautiful yellow flowered field was met with, well, mud.
Not to mention I was coming down with the worst stomach bug I’ve ever had in my life. EVAH! But regardless, their shoot turned out amazing! These two will be married in November at the Stonebridge Ranch Country Club in Mckinney, and as you can see from the photos, they have a connection the camera totally digs. What you might not see is how funny and goofy these two are (or maybe you can see a hint of it now and again) so we are incredibly excited to shoot their wedding!
Dear Shannon, thank you for muddying your ridiculously adorable shoes for my crazy ideas for shots! Love, Treva.
Congratulations on your engagement Ricky and Shannon!
