The Good, the Bad and the Ugly

Today’s post intent on labeling my week, brought to you by the storm that kept me up all night, and crazy children who haven’t started school yet, making this wife, mommy and photographer GRUMPY!

THE GOOD:

Roast.  More importantly, what it does to my husbands face. :)   Smiles, more smiles and lots of smiles, he even says he dreams about my roast!  So last night when he filled up his plate with TWO helpings, I just smiled on the inside.

Work.  Even if you don’t see all of the pictures, it doesn’t mean we aren’t cranking them out!  I just finished a corporate shoot, delivered the goods, had a boatload of prints delivered to the house, client lunches, and more bookings!  I’m currently working on two weddings, and somewhere in the midst of all of this we’re planning vendor meetings, ordering vendor gifts, and planning a workshop!  We’re putting together a full photo shoot with an array of wedding vendors, and (sadly) turning down Fall weddings due to bookings (which ultimately is a good thing for business)!

The Time Travelers Wife.  I laughed, I cried, I snuggled my hubby closer, and walked out of the theatre feeling thankful (even more than usual) I’m married to my best friend, I cannot imagine my life without him.

Birthdays.  I can hardly believe it, but Madeleine will be TWO and Elly will be ONE this week!!  Where has it gone??  So to celebrate, there will be double the cakes, double the climbing toys, friends and family, and plenty of hugs and cuddles for these precious girls who have helped join one big blended family together, and brought so much joy, love, and blessing to our lives!!  Happy Birthday Elly & Maddy!

Vacation.  When is that ever a bad thing?  Right?  Bob & I leave for a couples getaway at a 4 star resort, taking advantage of amazing food, the spa, and relaxation…we leave in one week! Woot!  My phone will be out of commission, sort-of. ;)

THE BAD:

Time.  Or rather, the lack therof.  I close my eyes, and days are flying by!  And even a successful day, has an overflow of more to be done!  Which is why my blog entries have been, um, on the light side as of recently. ;)

Summer.  With so many kids, there is a mix of good and bad here, really.  I love the summer when I don’t have to get up at the crack of dawn, and rush children out the door.  I love being able to not leave all day long if I don’t want to. I love swimming and water activities, and relaxing.  I do NOT love, however, talk of boredom, or a messy house.  And bored children=messy house. :)

Filing.  I’m seriously behind on the filing.  I look at the pile, and start conjuring ways I can hide the paperwork in a box, as not to have to look at it.  That’s just not like me at all!  (As I’m stuffing it into a box, shhh)

Spills.  Children at a table always inevitably leads to way too many spills.  Whoever said “Don’t cry over spilled milk” was obviously not doing the cleaning up!

THE UGLY:

Hair.  I do not know what is going on with my hair these days.  I’m growing it out, but the layers are growing out too, and really, somebody needs to do something.  Its a tragedy, I’m sad for the people at the grocery store who have to look at me with this on my head!

Tax Free Weekend.  I did all my shopping prior, I prepared myself, this weekend will be insane, and I refuse to be apart of it.  More power to you brave souls who will be fighting the herds of people, I pray for your safe return….

And there you have it folks, my week in a nutshell!  Here is a picture of my ONE YEAR OLD this time last year…I can’t believe its been a year since she was born! Enjoy the weekend, Happy Friday!
