I met Laurie in choir in highschool in our small hometown (and her twin Julie too), and I can absolutely, honestly say that since highschool I couldn’t pass an Uncle Julio’s without thinking of them…just because we HAD to eat there after a choir contest one year, and they raved on and on and on…and yes, it was GOOD! Besides that, I always remember how kind they both were, just genuinely good people. So, it was no surprise that when we photographed their wedding, everything I remember about loving growing up in our small town flooded back. People ask you REAL questions, they smile and mean it, they hug you even if you are just the friend of the friend’s photographer…and that years later I am proud of who I was, and where I am, and where I grew up, and that knowing these people made up a big part of that. I guess it’s kind of rare to grow up with the same people, to have been in Brownies or kindergarten with the same people I walked across a graduating stage with before heading to college. I have so many really special memories that span most of my childhood, and I’m honored that some of those people are apart of my adult life now. Laurie is one of them. And she and Steven were probably THE most obviously happy couple I’ve photographed, you can’t look at images from their wedding day and not see smile after smile!! The ceremony was held at the First United Methodist Church in Stephenville officiated by her mother, Jane Woodward. The reception was held at a gorgeous NEW location just outside Stephenville, called Bella Vita. Definitely rivaled Dallas/FW reception locations! Her dress is a Maggie Sottero, and absolutely gorgeous (but you probably remember from her bridals here and here we put up a few weeks back in downtown Dallas). Laurie, Steven and all of you family – THANK YOU for your gracious welcome and for allowing us to be part of this beautiful, precious day in your lives!
