The edges of the leaves lit in soft flame, as the suns rays pushed through the trees leaving streaks of haze. It was a soft, warm light that touched all of us as she looked up into his eyes, the tender haze enveloped her hair, highlighting their embrace. Both of their girls looked on, and they would glance over to them from time to time, and the smiles were shared by all four. The love circled around them from everyone present, in the same way the seating was a crescent shape under the blanket of big beautiful trees. The creek sparkled behind them, and Lori and William needed no backdrop, though they had chosen one most beautiful for this exchange of their love and their vows. Too often we get caught up in the traditions and details that we feel necessary to complete a wedding day, when really the wedding day should serve a love already complete with or without those details. Lori and William reminded us of this, as what became evident from this gathering, from this special moment, was that all they really needed and wanted was right there under the trees, by the creek, lit by the rays, in the beautiful streaks of haze. And that was more than enough. I have known Lori for many years, and so when she asked to book us for her wedding, I was extremely excited to share in her day in more than one way. Congratulations Lori & William, and to your families. (love ya!)
Thank you to the fabulous Landmark Inn Bed and Breakfast in Castroville for housing us that night, the grounds were spectacular and served as a most perfect location and backdrop for such an intimate, beautiful wedding. Also, special thanks to the unique, original, delicious “The Old Alstasian“ in Castroville, for wonderful food and atmosphere!
