Alone, she started down the aisle, looking both confident and vulnerable all at the same time…and then he surprised everyone and walked halfway down the aisle and met her, took her arm into his, kissed her cheek and she looked completely at ease, suddenly. And happy. My goodness, these two just dripped with happiness and excitement, and I’m entirely excited I caught it over and over throughout the day!
From the first moment I met Mandy & Tom, I knew we were dealing with a unique wedding, and an entirely unique couple. They skydive together, travel, even their “getaway” involved a bicycle for two! As far as weddings go, they had an entirely “Mckinney” wedding, something not only unique, but very COOL. In a time when cities are trying desperately for consumers to stay local, this couple used some of the most beautiful spaces in Mckinney for all kinds of details regarding their wedding!! To start, we met at The Pantry restraunt for our “detail” lunch before the wedding. The evening before their wedding, they greeted their guests at the Mckinney Performing Arts Center art gallery, and dinner was served at Rick’s Chophouse in downtown Mckinney. They dressed and prepared for their day at The Grand Hotel downtown, and their wedding ceremony was in a large, beautiful room at the Mckinney Performing Arts Center (many thanks to Joyce Nissen, the events coordinator who did a spectacular job!) And their reception was beautifully done by Landon Winery just across the road. We also were given permission to shoot some gorgeous shots of just the bride and groom in the amazing gardens at Heard Craig (just a bike ride away!) And how about their vendors?? The hair and make up were fantastic, done by Sandy at Kiss and Makeup, along with Jennifer at Hair Options Salon. The delicious cupcakes and bon bons were created by The Cake Stand. Flowers were beautifully prepared by Edwards Floral Design. I mean, could she have been ANY more loyal to our awesome city??
Mandy & Tom-it is clear that the two of you make a beautiful union, congratulations on finding one another.
